GolfREC - Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
This page addresses frequently asked questions for GolfREC version 1.0.

How do I know what the different buttons on the main screen of the app do?
Tap on the question-mark icon in the top left corner of the main screen. The app now shows tool-tips for all the buttons.
The app does not make any recordings when I strike a ball in front of the camera.
1. Make sure that automatic recording is turned on (big red button).
2. Make sure the golfer is shown and (roughly) centred in the viewfinder and that no error messages are displayed. If errors are displayed, change distance/angle/height of the camera to ensure the subject is correctly centred in the viewfinder.
3. Make sure you have the correct swing type setting. What you are attempting to record – practice swings, real strikes or both – must match what is set in ‘Settings->Recording->Swing types to record’. If necessary, change the setting.
4. Try setting model sensitivity to high for both video and audio. This makes the app less strict with respect to which movements it determines are golf swings (but also makes it more susceptible to record movements that are not golf-swings).
If none of the above addresses the problem, then please use your iPhone / iPad’s camera app to record your swing and email it to Panorizon support: (support@panorizon.com) explaining the problem and providing the device info (model name, model number and software version) of the iPhone/iPad you are running the app on. This is accessed in the iOS Settings app by tapping General->About.
The app shows a warning when I hit a ball (or perform a practice swing) and does not record the action?
Most likely the app does not recognise your movement as a full golf swing.
1. Try setting model sensitivity to high for both video and audio. This makes the app less strict with respect to which movements it determines are golf swings (and consequently makes it more susceptible to recording movements that are not golf-swings).
If the above, does not solve the problem, please use your iPhone / iPad’s Camera App to record your swing and email it to Panorizon support: (support@panorizon.com) explaining the problem and providing the device info (model name, model number and software version) of the iPhone/iPad you are running the app on. This is accessed in the iOS Settings app by tapping General->About.
When starting the app I get the error ‘Error – you have disallowed a required privacy setting…’
You have likely disallowed one or more of the required privacy settings when you started the app the first time or you have revoked the privacy setting from within the iOS Settings App at a later stage.
Start the iOS Settings App. Find the entry for the GolfREC App in the left column of the screen. Tap on it. Enable: Microphone, Camera and Photo Library. Restart the GolfREC App.
Recordings are tagged with ‘Golfer Name’ and ‘Location’.
Enter the name and location of the golfer on the ‘Golfer Screen’. Tap on the ‘Golfer Settings’ button at the top-centre of the ‘Main Screen’ and enter the details.
The ‘Last strike’ button is greyed out.
The ‘Last strike’ button (icon bottom of the main screen looking like a film-strip) is only available when a recording has just been made and no other screen has been visited in the mean-time.
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button to access the ‘Video Clips’ screen. Tap on the video-clip at the top, to view the last recording.
I have switched recording on, but nothing is shown on the screen.
Check that you have selected the correct camera (i.e. front or back camera – ‘Front / back camera’ button, bottom right corner of the ‘Main Screen’) and that nothing obstructs the view of the camera lens.
Turn automatic recording off (big red button) and then back on.
Can I change the app’s language?
No, version 1.0 of the app is only available in English.
How do I revisit the onboarding screens?
Tap on the ‘App intro’ button (‘i-icon’ top left corner of the ‘Main Screen’)
How do I share a recorded video clip on social media or email?
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (folder-icon, bottom left on the ‘Main Screen’). Drag right on the clip you wish to share and select Share (or Email).
How do I store a recorded video clip in my Photo Library?
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (folder-icon, bottom left on the ‘Main Screen’). Drag right on the clip you wish to share and tap Copy to Photo Library.
How do I send a recorded video clip as an email attachment?
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (folder-icon, bottom left on the ‘Main Screen’). Drag right on the clip you wish to share and tap Send as Email.
How do I delete a single video clip from the Strike Archive?
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (bottom left looking like a folder). Drag left on the clip you wish to share and tap delete.
How do I delete all video clips from the Strike Archive?
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (folder-icon, bottom left on the ‘Main Screen’). Tap on the ‘Clear All’ button on the top left of the ‘Video Clips’ screen.
I have many clips in the Strike Archive and I want to clear the archive except for a few clips that should be preserved.
Tap on the ‘Strike archive’ button on the ‘Main Screen’ (folder-icon, bottom left on the ‘Main Screen’).
Tap on the far left of each of the clips you wish to preserve. This causes a small lock-symbol to appear. (Tapping again on the same clip unlocks it).
Tap on the ‘Clear All’ button on the top left of the screen and tap ok on the warning dialog. Now all clips, except those that were locked are deleted.
The app does not record ball strikes, even if I have explicitly chosen to record only strikes in the ‘Settings Screen’.
The app uses sound (or absence of it) to determine whether a swing was a strike of a practice swing. If the sound of a strike is not loud enough the app may think that the strike was a practice swing and therefore discard it, if you have chosen to only record strikes (as opposed to both practice swings and strikes).
Set the Audio model sensitivity to high: Go to the ‘Settings Screen’, Under Model Sensitivity tap on high for Audio.
If, the above does not solve the problem, a workaround is to select to record both practice Swings and ball strikes. Select ‘Both’ under ‘Swing types to record’.
I have started automatically recording my strikes. But suddenly the app disappears.
The app may have crashed or may have been terminated by the operating system, due to the iPhone or iPad having been too hot or low on resources.
Try to start the app again and continue.
If the problem persists, contact Panorizon support (support@panorizon.com) explaining the problem and providing the device info (model name, model number and software version) of the iPhone/iPad you are running the app on. This is accessed in the iOS Settings app by tapping General->About.
You may also attach a crash-log, if there is one. You can do this as follows:
1. Start the iOS Settings App.
2. Tap ‘Privacy’ in the left column on the screen
3. Tap ‘Analytics & Improvements’
4. Tap Analytics Data
5. Scroll down to find entries for GolfREC
6. Tap on the most recent entry.
7. Tap the upload button (top right hand corner of screen) and copy the log or email it to yourself.
8. Include the log in the email to Panorizon Support.
When sending a file by email using the swipe right on the Archive the app says the main was sent, but it never arrives.
Check that your credentials for the main service on the phone are up to date.
Try saving the clip to the Photo Library and sending it from there and see if you get an error message.
